The rums that make up this exclusive series are the first 100% pot still and vintage single mark rums ever marketed by Appleton Estate. 100% pot still distillation, which consists of cutting off the heads and tails, allows only the heart of the distillate to be preserved.
After the 1994, 1995, 1999, 1984 and 2003 vintages, it is the turn of the 1993 (29 years old) and 2002 (20 years old) vintages, which were selected respectively from 13 and 20 barrels, chosen among the approximately 200,000 barrels that age at the Jamaican distillery.
The Hearts Collection 1993 (barrels n° 413487 to n° 413499 – 3600 bottles in total) has a congener content of 1456 g/100 LAA #P, & it opens with aromas of nutmeg and cinnamon, mixed with notes of mint, caramel, toasted oak and vanilla.
